Rihanna in Versace ’15.
Versace Green- it was never a thing, for good reason. Putrid greens are ugly chic, ironic. But bright enough to be an overstatement. And overstatement is what Rihanna achieves with exquisite effect.
This, here, harks back to Rihanna’s debut of: “Bitch Better Have My Money”; the in-your-face ugly chic, bearable, in standover money gurrl. Oversized sunglasses, rimmed in wet green, plus that oversized, gauche choker, impress sexy irony.
Next- furry green coat + green latex boots, balanced by a black, form-fitting dress, frame Rihanna in chic centrepiece.
Seductive irony, which you don’t always believe works, but which Rihanna somehow manages.

YSL reclaims glamour from the dark. The dark is set, here, in a voluminous black skirt, hitched asymmetrical, to reveal a noir stocking with lady-of the night heels. Black-on-black: the legs capped by a jet long-sleeve, blended seamlessly into that dark brown midline.
The glamour? Right at the periphery of black, the dark, simply: how black is worked into a fluid, flattering style.

Robert Wun began, inspired by nature, developing an architectural brand to current dizzying success. At first glance, this ‘24 gown is straight-up-and-down. Titular red gloves play into the column dress, fire-engine hot to give sleek, easy carpet-cum-nuit.
But, what do we have across the dress, below the hip, fabric, rippling, in the manner of accessorisation? Giving the dress glamour, without the habitual effect of accessories, which usually nip and tuck female form.
The gathering doesn’t at all subtract from this figure-hugging red, rather it stands on its own as beauty. As soft watery current, nature played into curvaceous subtlety. And with an haute couture fit.
